So I don’t know how but I had posted this at the same time
as the logo-type for design change, but when I got back on it wasn’t there. Incidentally
the day after I had posted this my computer decided it like the pavement more
than my backpack, and went plummeting. So today is the first time since that I have
had access to a computer to fix the missing blog post, I also only found out
today too. Anyway here is the original post.
So first off, I’m still working on the name but I’m think
something along the line of Soleil Paint, LuxPaint or something along the lines
of that. Both mean light paint. I was also playing around with translations of
electricity too.
We at (insert name) want to offer the very best of energy
generating paint products. To provide a
way to generate their own electricity to supplement and then later replace the
use and expense from the power companies. While the market is untouched, we
focus our campaign to homeowners who don’t necessarily have the space or money
for solar panels but want to supplement the energy usage, and infrastructure
companies who want to off-set their energy expense and corporate appeal by
being eco-conscious. We intend to use images of electricity and combine them
with various things such as a paint bucket and house to demonstrate the concept
of the paint gathering and generating energy.

ReplyDeleteI found to be helpful in the past on other projects. I like your concept of being “eco-conscious” but suggest changing to going green. Other than that your mission statement is great
Connie – Using the word “Soleil” (which means sun in French) in the name gives your product a European feel… which could work to your advantage since Europe, in general, is ahead of this country in environmentally-friendly policies. I worry that LuxPaint suggests luxury, but doesn’t give any indication of its solar energy qualities. Scanning a thesaurus is a really good idea.
ReplyDeleteMission Statement: As I read this, I understand that your product is not only beautiful, but also offers me a way to meet the energy needs of my family while offsetting my energy bills. Homeowners are being offered a win-win situation with your new product. Your competitors are paint companies as well as large power generating corporations, although the Federal government is offering those same large corporations a tax incentive to promote energy efficiency in building design. This is for real. So, you can be assured that there are multiple advantages for someone to purchase your product.
Finding ways to show their eco-consciousness in marketing campaigns, is something most large corporations are searching for these days. (Whether or not it is actually true!) So by subtly suggesting in your imagery that the user is being responsible to the environment would be a good conceptual approach.
Please talk a bit more about your target audience, who they are/where they live. Do they tend to drive hybrid cars and have suburban gardens? Do they show their eco-consciousness in other ways?
Then make sure this is college writing, use a word processing program to help you with complete sentences, etc. Feel free to use some of my verbiage above if you want.
I think you have identified and defined a great product!
