  1. I think the second is a little better, the arrow of the first make it look like an 'o' instead of a 'c'. Though the font of the first is very thin and make the word harder to read. My suggestion would be to it a little thicker, but otherwise great. I like how straight and even it is, it help lends to being the line of the 'i'.

  2. Carl – some good exploratory work here. I agree with Connie, and although the “C” substitution for arrows is a great idea, it probably belongs in a new, completely different design. It is a contrast that is not needed here, there is enough interest between the angled word, interesting main font, and color shifts. Some thoughts about second version that uses the sans serif “change”:

Squint your eyes at the logo, and notice how light the “i” is now. This needs to more closely resemble an “i” in that main font… so make sure to choose a weight for the word “change” that appears to equal the rest of the letters… visually. I realize that in reality it will never be as thick as those other letters, but it needs be closer than it currently is in value… so squint while you are judging your changes and try some different bolder versions of that sans serif font.

The word “change” must appear to share the same baseline as the rest of the letters. It currently appears to be a bit lower… pull it up.

You fixed the color of the g’s descender - good.
