Connie Tazelaar Step 3 Design Change Logotype

This is the logotype I did. I'm fairly happy with it but I think I might edit it later. I was thinking of breaking up the image and having some white space that starts from the beginning and slowly get smaller as the image progresses but I haven't found a placement I like so far.

  1. I like the gradient change from purple to light blue, light blue outline, and how Design change are connected. Great job

  2. Connie – I think you are approaching this with some good ideas. You are reinforcing the abstract idea of “change” with your color shifts, and the italic font suggested forward momentum. Very good thinking for the foundational concept here.

Going forward with this design: I think it has a readability problem. I would suggest that you place the words on the same baseline, rather than stacking them. The beginning of the word “Change” is important and currently the tops of the ascenders are actually getting a bit lost with the connection of the two words. Feel free to connect the words in a way that does not compromise clarity. Do you need the outer glow around the letters… if so, consider a different color? The blue outer glow behind the blue letters of “Change” lessens the contrast… and it all becomes soft and fuzzy in that area. I see that you’ve added a small blue stroke to address that issue… but that stroke could easily disappear when the logo is reduced. Best to seek other solutions to the challenge in that area. Lastly – feel free to show us a change in color that moves through both words… not just the last one.

A good beginning – do some more exploration and let’s see where this moves to next!

  3. The design looks great the colors work well and the font is compatible with the other. The light blue does tend to disappear on the white background, but it still sends the point across.

  4. The gradient is a great idea for the logo but there is something about the combination of the fonts that makes me mentally separate the two words. other than that I just think you might be able to use some paths or shapes to further push your design and make it yours.
