Solar Paths: Mission Statement
We at Solar Paths want to offer people at reasonable price and space requirements, a way to generate their own power to supplement or even replace the draw they get from the power company. While solar paneling is by no means "new" the ability to build it onto a self-lighting, self-heating, path or driveway is an untouched market. Our market is pretty much any home or building owner that lives somewhere with room for a driveway, snow, a need for power, sun, and any amount of time that the sun wont be lighting the walk/driveway. We intend to use imagery involving Sol itself or clear lit paths in the dark. Though to ensure the easier sell we'll be focusing up north at first with the ability to melt snow and offer lower prices on non-heated models in areas that wont need it.

Jonathan – Well written and clear, and it feels like this product is coming quite soon unlike a number of other products/services in the class. When you mention that your target audience is “everyone that owns a home with driveway” that could be true in a general sense. But, more specifically, what types of people would be interested in digging up their driveway or patio to install the Solar Path? That will cost money initially. It’s just like getting people to buy a Prius car when they already own a car. Your product could easily be just like that. So, do these people have extra money (so upper middle class?) and the awareness and interest in going “green (so they are educated)? Do they take the long view in investments, rather than short-term pay back? Who exactly are these people? What do for work, play, and life? Thinking about this will help you create the imagery that speaks directly to them.
ReplyDeleteWell written to the point, covers the key concept, and it is very clear. I would certainly be a customer, as long as it is affordable. The idea itself is great, the applications can be endless.
ReplyDeleteNice I like it, very clear of choice, easy to understand and was an easy read.

ReplyDeleteWould it take specialists to install the product or could the installation be done by the general public as a home improvement project?
